Instructions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds (if using) and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add diced carrot and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
Add green peas, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the peas with spices.
Cook for 5-7 minutes until the peas are tender but still bright green.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm as a side dish or over rice.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of red chili flakes or chopped green chili. You can also add diced potatoes for extra heartiness!
