Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 carrot diced
  • 1 cup green peas fresh or frozen
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds optional
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add cumin seeds (if using) and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add diced carrot and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Add green peas, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the peas with spices.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes until the peas are tender but still bright green.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm as a side dish or over rice.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of red chili flakes or chopped green chili. You can also add diced potatoes for extra heartiness!
