Ingredients

Instructions
**Cake:**
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Mix in vanilla extract.
6. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
7. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
**Buttercream:**
1. Beat butter until creamy.
2. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating well after each addition.
3. Mix in vanilla extract.
4. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
