Ingredients
– 1 tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers
– 8 oz (1 cup) hot water (about 190°F or 88°C)
– Optional: Honey, lemon, or mint for added flavor
Instructions
1. Heat water to about 190°F (88°C), avoiding boiling to preserve delicate flavors.
2. Place butterfly pea flowers in a cup or teapot.
3. Pour hot water over the flowers and steep for 5-7 minutes.
4. Strain the tea and discard the flowers.
5. Add honey for sweetness or lemon for a color change to purple.
6. Serve hot or chill for an iced version.
Notes
– Adding lemon juice changes the tea from blue to purple.
